ROUNDHOUSE RESIDENCY

An interdisciplinary performance combining contemporary writing, circus and dance. The piece explores honesty in performance. Its definition, its weight and its value. What does it mean to be honest on stage? Where does ones identity sit when we perform? Is the stage a space for one to truly escape? To lie with no repercussions?
Things I know about you explores the intimate physical relationship between two artists and contrasts this with their lack of ‘factual’ knowledge about each other. The work explores individual and collective identities, and asks how through disclosing secrets and telling lies, one might able to deceive the other and the audience. Aiming to blur the line between the performer and performed, the work brought circus/performance-art/dance to theatre/literature audiences at the Last Word (Roundhouse)and Derby Book Festivals.
